About Me
As a qualified counsellor and registered BACP member, I offer person-centred and integrative therapy, CBT, and trauma-informed practice, drawing from different therapeutic approaches to best meet what you're going through.
My approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and collaborative. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, or just feeling stuck, I'm here to support you as you work through challenges and move toward positive change.


Life Experience That Shapes My Counselling Approach
My previous life experiences include serving in the Royal Air Force for 14 years, followed by running my own bridal business for another 14 years. My military service gave me a deep understanding of the unique pressures that come with service life, the demands of military culture, the challenges of deployment, and the significant life transition that leaving the forces can bring. I understand how difficult it can be to adjust to civilian life and the complex emotions that can arise when your identity has been so closely tied to your service. If you're currently serving or are a veteran, I have particular insight into the experiences you may be facing.
Running my own business taught me about the pressures of entrepreneurship, the challenges of work-life balance, and the emotional demands of supporting others during some of their most important life moments. Working with brides and their families gave me insight into relationship dynamics, family stress, and how major life events can bring both joy and unexpected challenges.
My life experiences have taught me the value of resilience, empathy, and authenticity. I've faced challenges, navigated change, and learned that being real, not perfect, is what truly connects us. These experiences allow me to meet clients without judgement, understanding that everyone's journey is unique. I know what it's like to feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or stuck, and I use that insight to create a safe, genuine space where you can talk openly. I truly believe in practical, compassionate support that meets you where you are, helping you move forward in a way that feels authentic to you, leading to growing into who you want to be.

Heal
Creating space for healing means acknowledging that some experiences leave marks on us, and that's completely normal. In our sessions, there's no timeline for working through difficult emotions or traumatic events. I offer a gentle, accepting space where you can examine these experiences without fear of judgment. Healing often begins simply with having someone witness your story and validate that your feelings make complete sense.
Grow
Real transformation starts with understanding yourself more deeply. We'll look at the patterns in your life, not to criticise them, but to understand why they developed and whether they're still serving you. Through our conversations, you'll gain fresh perspectives on old situations and develop new responses that align with who you want to be. This process is entirely collaborative and moves at a pace that feels right for you.
